Patients’ Choice Award
Vitals, a health care database company based in Lyndhurst, New Jersey, gathers an estimated 6 million patient reviews each year to compile its annual Patients’ Choice winners. The company then applies its own algorithms to narrow the field of award candidates, culling only the top 5 percent of physicians for the honors.
While we don’t know all of Vitals’ criteria, we do know their Patients’ Choice Award winners average about two years’ more experiences than their peers, and their patient wait times are, on average, nearly four minutes shorter.
America’s Most Honored Doctors
Dr. Khambati is consistently recognized for his exceptional, compassionate service and skill as a LASIK surgery provider. In garnering a hat-tip as one of America’s Most Honored Doctors in 2020, he joins an elite group of talented doctors at the top 1 percent of his field.

Shabbir Khambati recalls that his grandfather was afflicted with macular degeneration that damaged his eyesight when Shabbir was very young. His grandfather’s struggles inspired Shabbir to pursue medical training in ophthalmology so he could help others maintain good vision.
